March 29, 2007, Jupiter, FL – Synthetic Turf International (STI), a global synthetic turf supplier and installer of premium synthetic surfaces, recently completed installation of a 2,200 square foot soccer field for one of “The Ten Most Admired Latinos” in America—author and television personality Jorge Ramos and his family at their home in Miami, Florida.

Ramos wanted to construct a home practice field for his family, who are avid soccer fans. He contacted STI, whose design-build team traveled to Miami for a site visit. Limited space presented a challenge and it was determined that the most logical placement of a synthetic field would be over the existing driveway. First, plants and shrubs were removed to add width to the field. Base material was applied to the soil at the end of the driveway, to transition and blend the synthetic turf into the existing natural grass lawn. The project was then completed by applying STI’s SoftLawn® Tipede synthetic turf directly over the asphalt driveway using a permanent adhesive.
