STI Helps Marines Experience A Greener World Overseas by Sending Synthetic Turf for Marines Golf Program

Russell Normandin of Woonsocket, Rhode Island – A Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Normandin was the first competitor in the history of The Golf Channel’s Big Break series to be on active duty. At the time, he was deployed in Afghanistan for “Operation Enduring Freedom,” Normandin has one goal in mind: to be the only current active-duty Marine to compete on the PGA TOUR.

Now that Russell is deployed in Afghanistan for “Operation Enduring Freedom,” Synthetic Turf International was able to send synthetic turf for marines stationed with him overseas.  STI sent the troops an artificial putting green and an EZTee hitting mat in order for Russell to teach his fellow marines the wonderful game of golf in their down time. This wonderful idea was put in to place thanks to Wendy Childers, the founder of LCPL. Cody S. Childers Memorial Fund. Their website can be found at, please take the time to look into their wonderful cause.

Synthetic Turf International was extremely fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful cause by sending the synthetic turf for marines in Afghanistan.  STI has always been a supporter of the troops and similar charitable organizations.  STI’s ultimate goal is to make sure everyone can Experience A Greener World across the globe regardless of the need.  You can contact Synthetic Turf International to find out more information about how you can Experience A Greener World.  There are a number of solutions related to recreational activities such as golf, bocce, tennis, croquet, and many others.  The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.  STI is the leader in innovative thinking and professional installation across all applications of the synthetic turf industry.
